Scope and capacity
Firmus's Wesley Vale AI Factory is a proposed facility at 226 Mill Road on part of the former Wesley Vale pulp-mill site in Tasmania. Firmus describes a two-stage build: approximately 26 MW of facility capacity with 23 MW critical IT initially, expanding to approximately 52 MW facility capacity and 46 MW critical IT. Application materials describe roughly 3,500 square metres of total building area and a 2,690-square-metre data hall, with 40 diesel backup generators. Firmus estimates average annual cooling-water use of 448 kL sourced from onsite rainwater. The development application remains under planning assessment; in September Latrobe Council requested state major-project review.
