The U.S. Department of Energy selected Brookfield to develop and operate a data center campus on portions of the Paducah Site in western Kentucky, while NextEra Energy was selected to build and own dedicated energy infrastructure. Big Rivers Electric, Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative and Paducah Power System have defined wholesale, retail and community roles, and the power-service agreement remains subject to Kentucky Public Service Commission approval.
