Monarch Compute Campus
About Monarch Compute Campus
Nscale’s Monarch campus is a proposed AI-infrastructure development on more than 2,250 acres in Mason County, West Virginia. Nscale describes a 1.35 GW first phase targeted for service in the 2027–2028 period, with a longer-term expansion path above 8 GW and planned capital investment exceeding $20 billion. Microsoft has signed a non-binding letter of intent for up to 1.35 GW of compute capacity, so neither that amount nor the 8 GW expansion ceiling is operating capacity. Delivery depends on power, microgrid, customer, financing and construction milestones.
